why the paint runs or sags down the wall when I spray
Why the paint runs or sags down the wall when I spray?
Answer: The paint is going on too thick. This can be caused by a number of things.
- The operator is not moving the airless spray gun fast enough. Increase the speed that the gun is being moved over the painting surface.
- Select a spray tip with a smaller orifice size. For example: if you are using a 419 tip, try using a 417 or a 415 tip instead. This will reduce the amount of paint leaving the gun.
- Select a airless spray gun nozzle with a wider fan pattern. For example: if using a 317 tip, try using a 417 or a 517 tip instead.
- The gun may be to close to the surface being painted. Hold the gun further back when spraying which is recommended 25-30cm distance.
